History

The eastern region of the country of Srilanka is the rich in internal evidence of its long history of habitation. The two-year historical series and the rich cultural values, the Tamil characters the lineage the mythological stories and the life patters help the series to understand the existence and the ethics of governance. Batticaloa region is identified as a part of the relationship between kannahi worship and the mather’s tradition was created by the first epic ‘Silappathikaram’. People and descendants of the king renounced the royal life for chastity.

Even though ‘kannahi kaathai’, ‘Thirukovil’ inscription, mamangam pillayar temple, ‘Kokkadicholai chariot and Batticaloa maammiyam and vilkodi virudhu’ do not have two thousand years of history of people, ‘Vipulananda swamije’ identified Vidhuwan.S.Poopalapillai had been inspired to re-record the history. This event seems to have started ‘Sarasothimaalai’ again. A revival of Srilankan Tamils that had died out after ‘Poothanthevanar’ in elam, moovendhar too. The Sinhalese, the Portuguese, the Dutch and the British but ‘kulakkotan’, ‘Ulakanachi’, ‘Kanthapodi’, ‘Arumaikuttipodi’ were the ones who adorned the rulership in that period as the master of the soil.

Indigeneous of Batticaloa wished that their children too study in western type of education.So they build a Hindu school in 1920 and provided a means of imparting education to the children.To the east of the temple build athe school with sticks and planks.Among the Pioneers”of people Vaithiyalingam,Markandu a self made trader who lived in Anaipanthi is remembered even today.

     The temple school was established with the children of the neighbouring Kalladitheru with a lady teacher called “Vettavalavu Sinnappillai”.In 1925 Swami  Vipulananthar took charge of this school on behalf of Ramakrishna mission.

During the period of 1925-1930 a old mouk named Abishananda swami who came to Srilanka with swamijee.He stayed in a room of the school building while Swami vipulanandar served as the principal of manipay Hinducollege and he paid all his attention to the development of Anaipanthi school.During the period students of Alayadischool children joined at temple hindu religious school.Temple hindu religious school was mixed school but from 1936 it was served an Anaipanthi boys school.After that side of the north section acted as girls school.This school sittuted in a beautiful location on hospital road.It was started on 01.10.1936 with 148 students and four teachers in the Vivekananda hall donated by Mr.K.V.Markandu as a library and a place of reception for hindu devotees and monks.Swami’s dream of a school for girls came true,through this BT/Anaipanthi Vivekananda girls school.Mrs.K.Bhupathi assumed duty on the first principal with the rapid speed the school was declared on the bilingual school on May ,1945.

        Later on Mr.S.T Arasu  was donated a hall on behalf of his father late Somasundaram.By the side of the hall ,science lab was established.In 1948 the school was developed into an English medium girls’’school with the name of  BT/Anaipanthi Vivekananda senior secondary as a residence.During the period of principal Mrs.Thirunavukarasu,herself and her staff  performed a drama called “Silambin selvi” was staged atb Munipal hall.The old girl,tacher and later on Principal Mrs.Thulasimani Kirupainayakam ,during the period od 195 and 1959 Advance level stream was started.since 1948 the school has been functioning as BT/Anaipanthi Vivekananda senior secondary English medium girl’s school but from 1965 it functioned as Anaipanthi mixed school.from 1976 the school developed as BT/ Anaipanthi Ramakrishnan girls Maha Vidyalaya.In the intervening period the number of students had gone down due the attractiveness of neighbourning high schools,therefore upper classes were discontinued.Again the period of Principal Mr.V.T.Kumarasamy were started in 27 th may 1978.It was the Advance level examination center in 1991.And also from 1992 commerce stream was started.The first floor of the school was built on 13 th of June1980.continuously three story building related activities and classes was start In 1992.This building was inaugurated by the Zonal director of Education Mr.K.Thiyagarajah.A statue of  Swami Vipulanantha was established and Swami Jeevananda Maharajunveliled the statue.According to the minister’s letter dated 30 th Apirl 2012 usinh Ramakrishna mission’s name and logos was prohibited.In order to carried out the letter the name was changed BT/Anaipanthi Hindu Ladies college in 29 th August  2014,with 315 students band 28 teachers school  was started to upgrade and develop well.

  The diament festival of school was helped in 2013 in a gread soul.This event deserves to be recorded in history.for about eighty years the students who have received the grade 5 schlorship,Ordinary leveland Advance level achievens who have gone to University and graduated are proficient in many subjects and the school was created and is creating hundreds of people who are full of virtues. May all have the blesings of “Anaipanthy Pillaiyar”.
